Things to avoid when pole dancing:

Don’t wear any jewellery at all
It is too easy to catch them when you are dancing and injure yourself. Also rings can scratch the pole.
No lotions or moisturiser
Try not to put on lotions before you pole dance, or have a shower and wash it off before dancing as you won’t have any grip on the pole.
